This must be what my grandmother saw when she was a young bride living in Wisconsin on the edge of the Great Lake. (Maybe close to where you are.) She was a new arrival from Norway and thought the expanse of white was a very large field of snow. She loved telling the story of how shocked she was in the spring when her big white pasture began to melt away revealing itself as a huge lake!
