  1. I am amazed how your imagination takes flight equally through art and poetry, Ethel. Do you also dance, carve marble and play the trombone? 🙂

  2. This is very interesting–and the timing, as well, because I’ve had a “broken bird” image working in the back of my mind for weeks, trying to become a poem. God bless you today.

  3. Most successful abstract that really is not abstract at all in presenting the essence of “broken wings”. I applaud the darker, more intense colors you chose–it adds to the message!

  4. Another beautiful pastel, Ethel. You should have your own art museum to display all your wonderful paintings!

  5. Hi Tom and Ethel! Just popping by to say I’ve nominated/given you a couple more awards–come on over and get the info when you have time (and no, there’s no obligation–but you know how I feel about you!). God bless you.

This is really lovely work Ethel. I have come to greatly admire your work. I really like the intensity of the blues you’ve chosen. I feel a sense of struggle but I also feel a strength from this piece. It’s comtemplative and I appreciate that.
Thank you for sharing more of your wonderful art.

  7. Lovely work. Thank you for sharing!

  8. There’s such freedom and restraint at the same time in your art, Ethel! In this I feel the liberation of resignation…the folding into something more healing than reaching out.
