by Thomas Davis
I shall put upon your shoulders
The cloak of the hills,
And at your feet I shall put the mountains
Clothed with the light of early dawn.
With joy I will gather up the blue waters
From the nestling lakes of the valleys
And turn the blue waters into gems,
Rare and beautiful, for you to wear.
Beautiful imagery!
Direct statement combined with beautiful metaphor equal a sublime piece.
Awwww … Thomas, this is so romantic! I can easily understand how you won the heart of your fair lady … beautiful poem, I love it. ~ Julie 🙂
Oh Thomas, this is so beautiful. Though it is a love poem, presumably for Ethel, it has a most Holy sound and feel.
Such fair words I wonder were they true. Beautiful poem
So beautiful, Thomas – and so eloquent. I love this one a lot!
